Labor Day is over. That is when boating around Ocean City actually gets good.
The weather is still summer. The water is still warm. And a lot of the July crowd has gone home. You are not fighting the inlet, the bay, or a packed weekend. September is the quiet stretch locals wait for.
Beautiful weather, fewer people
September in Ocean City, NJ is still boat weather. Warm days, cooler nights, and a lot less traffic on the water. Great Bay, the Thoroughfare, out the inlet. You can actually run it without a parade in front of you.
The boats are sitting there
Season runs May through October, so joining now still gets you the rest of this year. Boat Ride and Ride All are the memberships to start with if you want a boat without owning one. Two docks: Boat Yard Marina in Somers Point and All Seasons Marina in Marmora. Default outing is 5 hours. Reserve in the Boat Club App, show up, enjoy.
Skip the homework
No trailer. No winterizing yet. No boat in the driveway all year. Fall is when owning one starts to feel like a job. Membership is the opposite. Reserve. Show up. Enjoy.
